'Risk' to Become Next Big-Screen Board Game Adaptation

Battleship. Monopoly, Candy Land, and Ouija. A Clue re-do. If it's a board game, chances are it's going to get put into development sometime in the near future. If Hollywood wasn't such a wacky world of insane ideas, I'd be surprised that we hadn't gotten this one earlier. Nikki Finke is reporting that Sony Pictures has bought the rights to Risk, piling more cinematic coin into Hasbro's coffers. The project will be developed by Hasbro in conjunction with James Lassiter and Overbrook Entertainment.

Columbia Pictures pres. Doug Belgrad says audiences have "shown a great desire for films that bring to life everything that has made these franchise properties stand the test of time," and mentioned the likes of Transformers and G.I. Joe. Unsurprisingly then, he says the film will be an exciting movie with "an action-packed, thrilling story." It makes sense -- a game where you roll the dice to world domination is just asking for a big blow-out action flick. That being said...

First of all, there's been no "great desire" to see board game movies get adapted. Nice try. Second, in the piece, Finke talks about Belgrad mentioning the two old cartoon redo's before noting that he did not mention "the dismal movie from the board game Clue." While I understand some people dislike the film, dismal is quite a strong statement -- especially in a world where we're getting Battleship. Finally, with the ever-rising popularity of all things geek, I'm kinda disappointed that this won't be a tongue-in-cheek comedy about a bunch of geeks playing Risk. But who knows? Maybe that will come when someone gets around to buying Magic: The Gathering.

I have some great relationships and for the most part I am the that messed it up .They were for the most part of them great lady very smart .I just did not have nuff brains to do the right thing .But for the most part.I am still friends with most of them today and in some circles that is very strange ,but I like it .

Where were you 9-11-2001 think back .When you heard about the 1st plane what was your 1st thought .Are world change that for me was the one of worst months of my life .over 5,000 people lost there life that day i cry and i said to myself god helps al usl.10 days later I lost a very good friend of my.Are world change that day no matter what we were doing we forgot about it ,and try to make sense out of it .Are pitting ass things are crazy worlds meant nothing that day .There was never anything so bad for since Dec 7 1941 .In some way it is sort of scaring my friend that died later that month's her birthday was Dec 7.This is all about a ego's and we all thought it would never happen here guess what it did.
Now this is about What i have been reading for years in comic books good vs evil .It scares me to think where I come from back how feel and where I am at now and how I feel now .Never say to some one i should of said I love you or just say what you want say never let it go till it is to later .Be thankfull for the here and now times are tuff but your alive and you have family and friends .I glad to have both alot friends and some family .I thank god every day for that.Yes I am mad about what has happen to my world now and I want better hell everyone does .It is tuff now and we have to keeping going ya it is wrong and we do not deserve this .

New rules to be implemented by the federal government could result in less dinner-time indigestion for millions of Americans frequently disrupted by automated phone calls offering time shares, extended product warranties or any manner of other products.

The Federal Trade Commission said Thursday that beginning next month, such calls will no longer be lawful unless the telemarketer has received written permission from consumers who express interest in receiving such offers by phone. The provision is known as the Telemarketing Sales Rule, or TSR. Current rules block calls by the consumer adding a home or cell phone number to the federal Do Not Call registry.
"Starting Sept. 1, this bombardment of prerecorded pitches, senseless solicitations, and malicious marketing will be illegal," FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz said in a statement. "If consumers think they're being harassed by robocallers, they need to let us know, and we will go after them."

Unauthorized calls can be reported to the commission online or at (877) 382-4357 (877-FTC-HELP).

Telemarketers who violate the new rule are subject to fines of up to $16,000 a call. The ban prohibits automated calls regardless of whether the consumer has done business with the seller. Calls placed by humans aren't banned, unless the phone number is on the national do not call registry.

Those involved in marketing directly to consumers say consumers won't notice much of a difference. That's because the ban has been in the works for some time and telemarketers have planned for it.

While the ban prohibits many calls, don't expect the phone to stop ringing altogether. The new rules don't, for example, prohibit calls that provide information, such as flight information or appliance delivery times -- or even debt collectors, so long as the calls do not promote the sale of goods or services.

Also exempt are calls from local charities, politicians, banks and -- Holy Jerry Seinfeld! -- those from telephone companies

Let me ask all of you since you guys are all smart and all.I have been a part of a star trek group for about 13 yrs , we have had are ups and downs but in the last few years there has been some mean shit going on .And I am in a cross road I want to quit and have said to the fact but I hold out hope it will get better .BUt a idea has come to me about starting my own star trek group and I have had some good ideas from people to do it.But this weekend was the the broken thing with me .
I went to see the new star trek movie with some friends one is a member of this group and one was not .We had a table a t this movie show and I said to the members and we were going to buy tickets for are 50/50 raffle but we were late and we were going after the show .When the show was over I want to introcded my friend to the crew and I did and the woman just said hi and said I am looking for possable propects for buying the raffle and my friend was right in front when she said that .NOw friend has no dealing with this group and the said woman has some issue with me but has never meant my friend before and said that right in front of him and just pertend he was not there and he was going to buy some tickets but after that he just look at me and the hell with this and we walk away.
I was so upset that I gave them wrong way to get home .I have talked to the person in charge of the group and she agree that was wrong . I have try to talk to her but all she wants to talk by is e-mail a face to face or phone is out of the questions .So my questions to all of you what the hell do you think i should do .I know I have alot of friends in the meet up and the cons that would love to join a star trek group.And the sci fi group that right now is getting back to normal and is I think better then ever have great friends there to.There is some thing else I have spent the better part of 2 yrs putting a web site and message board and I got just where i have wanted it .But now with all this new shit I am ready to take the website and say the hell with them ,but there good people in the group that are not in this stuff .I like them a lot i just feel any way I go with this just sucks big time for me help

Marilyn Chambers, Legendary Adult Actress, Dead at 57

The world-famous performer worked in both XXX and mainstream films

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. — Marilyn Chambers, star of such golden age classics as Behind the Green Door and Insatiable, was found dead Sunday in the mobile home where she had been living for the past several months. She was 57. Chambers was found by her daughter, McKenna. No cause of death is yet known, and an autopsy will be performed.

Chambers, who said she began performing under her real name because she was unashamed of what she did, was nonetheless born Marilyn Ann Briggs, and she made 16 movies during the period 1972 to 1986, mostly for the Mitchell Brothers and Caballero Home Video. It was at Caballero that she created the series Marilyn Chambers' Private Fantasies. During this period, she was married to her manager, Chuck Traynor, and though they were divorced in 1985, when Chambers made her comeback film for VCA Pictures, Still Insatiable, in 1998, she requested that Traynor be present for the filming to lend her moral support. The comeback, however, was short-lived, generating just nine movies, some of which were non-sex roles. Chambers tried her hand at producing as well, creating what was hoped to be a continuing series, Nantucket Housewives, for her own company, Damaged Productions.

Johnnie Keyes, one of her co-stars in Behind the Green Door, remarked, "We were really close. I’m still in shock. It’s like it’s not even really hitting me yet. I don’t know what my feelings are. It’s like my brain is protecting me right but the gloom is starting to set in."

Chambers was also famous for having appeared as the "cover girl" on boxes of Ivory Snow detergent, and was the star of David Cronenberg's horror film Rabid in 1977.
